The Admission Process: How To Apply
Four Easy Steps
1
Call our Student Services Office at (608) 647-6186, Ext. 264 or e-mail
rlninfo@uwc.edu to obtain an application for admission.
(High school students may contact their high school guidance counselor for application materials.) Or,
use the on-line application. We invite you to contact
us for an appointment if you'd like to explore the educational offerings at the UW-Richland with
a faculty or staff member. See the campus and learn more about the Associate of Arts & Science
degree, Guaranteed Transfer Program, financial aid, housing,
campus life and more. Make an appointment by contacting
Student Services.
2
Complete the UW System Application For Undergraduate Admission:
The application fee is $35.
If you're a high school student and are applying as a new freshman, give the application and
your application fee to your high school counselor who will forward it to us along with your
official high school transcript.
If you're no longer in school, return the application to the Office of Student Services at the
UW-Richland, 1200 Hwy 14W, Richland Center, WI 53581-1399. Contact your former high school and
request that a copy of your official high school transcript be forwarded directly to us. If you've
earned a G.E.D. or high school equivalency diploma, that information needs to be provided to us.
The application fee is required if you've not previously been enrolled as a degree-seeking student
within the UW System and provided you have not previously paid an application fee.
If you've attended any colleges previously, return the application to our Office of Student Services--
and contact any colleges previously attended, as well as your high school, so that official
transcripts are forwarded directly to us. If you've not previously been a degree-seeking student
in the UW System (and paid the application fee), application fee payment is required.
If you're applying as a "special student," please be aware that we have a Special Student Application
Form. Special students are those who are not seeking a university degree or those who have a
degree and wish to take courses for personal enrichment. As a special student, it may be possible
for you to enroll for up to 6 credits of coursework without having to submit prior education records.
An application fee is not required. (If you are in high school, you will apply as a "high
school special" and use the regular UW application, as explained below.
If you wish to apply as a "high school special" student, a student taking courses
while still in high school, have your counselor forward the application materials to our Student Services
Office. You will need to complete the application for admission--and your counselor will need to forward your
educational records. In addition, a letter of recommendation will be required from your high school
counselor or principal.
3
Submit the application fee, if required (see above). . .
