Dean's bio
Lyn A. Brodersen, Ph.D.,
has broad experience in higher education, nonprofit and business arenas. She came to UW-Richland in July, 2008 from Brainerd, Minnesota, where she was dean of liberal arts and sciences at Central Lakes College, a two-year campus of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. She has also served as assistant dean for communications and industrial technology, project director and interim director for the South Omaha Campus for Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska. Previously, she taught and advised students at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City.
In addition to her positions in higher education, Brodersen has served as coordinator of a school-to-career program for the South Sioux City (Nebraska) Area Chamber of Commerce, business development analyst and proposal writer, public library director and public museum curator of education.
Brodersen received her doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from Iowa State University. She earned her master's degree in modern European history from the University of Notre Dame and her bachelor's degree in history magna cum laude from Coe College.
