Learn About UW-Richland
Meet Our Students
Hi, my name is Christopher Limmex. I attended River Valley High School in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
I chose to begin my secondary education at UW-Richland because it was affordable, close to home, and a
small campus. UW-Richland is a great place to complete many of your general studies before transferring
to a larger institution. Most of the professors are very accessible and easy to talk with. They will
stop to help you out whether they are in their office, or in the café. I will continue my educational
career at UW-Madison next year where I will pursue biochemistry as my major and then move on to medical
school. I did not decide this until recently and UW-Richland is a great start if you are still debating
what kind of career you want or what you want to study. If I can give one word of advice, it is to get
involved here at UW-Richland with Student Senate, Student Ambassadors, and intramurals, these
experiences will last a lifetime.

Hi, my name is Ida Ryan. I am a returning adult student and am in my third
semester at UW-Richland. After my graduation from UW-Richland, I will be finishing my degree in Business Administration.
I have lived in Richland Center for most of my life, so it made good sense to me to start my degree here. I am glad
I did—the campus is close for me, and I really appreciate all the help you can get from the professors. I am
married, have four grown children, and seven grandchildren. Being a full time student, wife, mom, grandmother,
and partner in my own business keeps me really busy! I would recommend UW-Richland to everybody! It’s a great place
to start YOUR degree.

Hi, my name is Emery Wontor, and I am a second year student here at UW-Richland. I’ve lived in Richland
Center all my life, and actually hated the fact of staying home for two more years and going to this
college. However, I decided to try it out and I am very glad I did so. There are so many opportunities
that are available for anyone who wants to do anything, and the atmosphere here is wonderful! The
professors are friendly and very helpful, the food is great, and the students are fun to get to know.
I enjoy the small class sizes, and the quiet atmosphere.

My name is Heather Loper, from Prairie du Chien. I’m a second year student planning to transfer
to UW-Platteville after this semester to continue my education. I’m a Campus Ambassador and my career
goal is to be a teacher. I chose this school because of the size and personal attention. My favorite
professor, Amanuel Teweldemedhin, is always ready and willing to help me with math, chemistry, and
anything. The best part is that the professors know who you are. You’re not just a body in their
classrooms. They’re always willing to help.

I’m Lara Fairchild from Platteville. I’m undecided about a major, so I’m taking my general studies courses.
I want to get my associate degree and transfer to a four-year school. What I like about UW-Richland is that it’s
not huge. Most of my classes have 20 or so students. I like the professors. They will help you with anything. They’re
great listeners and they make classes interesting. You make so many new friends here. I’m a Campus Ambassador and a
member of International Club. I’ve made lots of new friends. The best thing overall--it’s a beautiful campus and
you get a great education.
